Bank of America, IBM, Chase Manhattan to Offer Checks Archive.


Bank of America Corp., along with Chase Manhattan Corp. and computer giant IBM, wants to change the way banks process their checks and create a check processing entity to become known as Viewpointe.


The three companies announced they have teamed up to create a national digital archive of check images. Ultimately, the archive will allow consumers to view images of their cancelled checks online.
